  • Better than the last bottle. Improves with air, even on the following day, so give it air! Will be a long runner! I like the 2002-vintage, especially on the left side. I think, it is underestimated compared to 2001. You can find nice and typical aromas of wet earth and leaves, cigar box, some pepper-notes are also there. It was better on day 2, where even fruit notes of blackcurrant appeared. All in all good stuff for the price that will make fun at least over the next decade...

  • good mid-neck level and long cork, decanted 2+ hours, still quite youthful, almost opaque black-red colour, no real brown even at the rim, remarkable for age, fine, elegant, rich cassis sweet-fruit nose, inland St Julien fruit richness, very good for the vintage, palate of medium weight but with rich fruit depth and concentration, some hints of hardness / underripe character of the less than stellar vintage but overall really very good, the scores have been creeping up which suggests it is still not at its apogee in keeping with the still youthful colour, more in the cellar so this is welcome, purchase price en primeur was very reasonable so top QPR

  • Nice wine! Gave it 1 hour of slow ox. Approachable, aromas of black fruit compared with just a little touch of tertiary notes. Would deserve a better score if there wouldn‘t be this note of Chlorine in the background which Did not fade within 3 hours. Overall very nice wine just at the beginning of its prime window.
