  Guys night - course meal (Kevin and Vicki's house): Drank a small glass over 45 minutes. Not that different from a bottle 8 years ago, and its quite impressive that Suduiraut pulled this off in 2006. Relatively sweet and rich, but there is a lot of spicy botrytis here. It strays from a GREAT Sauternes by being a touch lacking in complexity and attack, but man, still quite pleasurable.

  Guy's Night: Variety Pack (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Medium gold color. Drank a glass from 375ml over 30 minutes. Orange creamsicle, tangerine, spice, balanced, honey, bright, vigorous with intensity and energy. Very easy drinking. 93+pts or maybe better.

  Orange peel, almond, honey, apricot. Touch of lemon and red grapefruit acidity. Overally slightly lacking in complexity and acidic balance to be a great Sauternes.

  Very pretty, a lighter expression of Sauternes with honey and botrytis spice framing bright citrus and tropical fruit flavours. The botrytis is here in spades though it never feels heavy thanks to surprising acidity here. Lovely wine that (unsurprisingly) paired very well with canelés for dessert.
