I love these under-rated vintages from big producers. All the elements are in place, yet the wines don't reach the industry's full throttle expectations. That makes them elegant and nuanced like this one. Very Barolo in style based on the light/medium body, and it still needs about 90 minutes to unfurl. After that, its a powerful, yet delicate wine full of rose petals with hints of cedar and vibrant and brisk acidity to keep it here for a long time. Drink or hold

Quite nice, still mostly primary, just starting to get some mature notes after 4 hrs open (decant for at least 3 hrs). Medium bodied, strong tannins, solid acidity. Nice black and red fruits, fruits, earth, leather. If this bottle is typical, this will get better over the next 5-10 years and hold there for a decade or more (if you like older mature wines).

A gift bottle. Came off as tired and a bit flat. The fruit shows some advanced raisiny notes. Finishes short, with a darker prune fruit revealing some nutty and balsamic reduction aromatics. Drink up.
