Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 90 points

  • Dark purple to the rim. Nice full bold legs. Dark fruit, vanilla, oak, menthol, butterscotch, dark chocolate, mocha on the nose. Full mouth feel with soft tannins and acidity, dark fruit on the mid palate and a bright pepper spicy finish with drying tannins. Very Left Bank Bordeaux full cabernet sauvignon style. I have had Dashe Zin's and this is similar quality. Their Zins drink cab like and this is no expception. Very nice and should develop over the next hour. Very expressive of Alexander valley with the pepper and spice, almost Jordanesk.

  • This one surprised me, as I have had a disappointing experience with some Dashe wines in the past. Not this one. Quintessential cabernet in a traditional style. Rich nose with lots of good cab fruit. Palate is medium to heavy, with a fair amount of structure. Longish finish. A couple more years of bottle age would probably serve to resolve the tannins, which are a bit too forward at this point.
