This wine was rested nearly 5 years since my purchase. My patience was paid off big time, at least when comparing my experience to all of the tasting notes posted here. Popped, filtered (a must!) and vinaerated into an ample decanter. After swirling in the decanter for some time we paired this with some medium rare porterhouse steaks. Dense rustic eggplant color; earthy, toasted cedar nose, BIG fruit forward, yet elegant Cali-cab, full bodied dark red-blue fruit with sage and mineral notes: complex and focused. Long, sleek finish. Not the wine you all have described.
