  {cork, 13.5%} Fading garnet, brick; looks right. Fairly intense nose from Riedel; compost, leather, a bit more 'old red' than pinot specifically, but still very attractive. Correct for age. Medium weight palate, medium acid, soft leathery old flavours on the dry side, but tannins all resolved/softened out. Even presence along tongue, very moreish. Very pleasant, not world changing; can hold but not to any further improvement.

  Cherry, floral notes and some gamey, earthy character that could be brett influence. Sweet fruit on the palate, decent length but it lacks a bit of definition.

  2003 Stonier Pinot Noir Reserve ( Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Mornington Peninsula) Kleur: Fluwelig robijnrood Aroma / bouquet: Expressieve zondoorstoofde neus, aardbeien (brandewijn), Smaak / Afdronk: Friszure aanzet, medium bodied, zachte tannines, zoetige afdronk. Algemeen / potentieel: Pinot Noir uit de Nieuwe Wereld is zelden groots. Ook deze wijn is dat niet. Prettig, soepel, niets mis mee. Maar verre van groots. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 9 + Smaak / Afdronk: 13 + Algemeen / potentieel: 7 = 84/100
