  Popped and pouted, and drank over three hours. This thing never really took off for me. Was hoping it would open up and flower, but that never came to pass. Not sure what was going on or how we could have urged the wine along. Still, something to wet the gullet.

  Opened 1 hour prior to serving and decanted. Showing lots of youth on the nose, a bit disjointed. Loads of oak and butter, behind that are raspberry and strawberry aromas, baking spices, and a hint of pie crust and campfire smoke. On the palate the oak juts out, almost overpowering the red fruit and spices, but it doesn't quite succeed. Needs a long time before its ready, but a powerful wine right now. Good QPR.
