some fruit forward followed by smoke, leather, licorice. Given the age, there is not a lot of spice, but still a tiny bit of acid and balance, although I think at this point it is a wee past it's prime consuming range

Deep violet but not as dark or full bodied as some malbecs. Nose is fruity with some licorice. Front end is very fruity with a nice round mouth filling middle and a good finish with some tannins to chew on. Mocha and cherries seem to be the dominate flavors. Since this bottle is around $30, it's hard to recommend it as a value, but it's definitely a good example of malbec that'll go well with food. For half the price, try the Melipal malbec or Terrazas de los Andes Reserve for a similar experience. Appearence (5/5), Nose (10/15), Taste and Finish (17/20), Potential (7/10)

Must decant. Excellent wine, nice with cheese, but sharp with chocolate. Mild body with smooth finish. niiiice. we had with steak and finished the entire bottle. Repeat, must decant - there was significant flotsom and jetsum in the bottle.
