This is very good. Violets and baking spices; feels pretty fresh at almost 20 yrs. After a few hours in the decanter, the bottle sweetness starts to come out... Just feels like it's just starting to mature and will make old bones... Based on this bottle, I expect this to be very compelling in another 10 or even 20 years

A Fall Magnum Dinner in Toronto (Irongate, Toronto, ON): (from 750) I really quite enjoyed this but couldn't help but think about how much better it will be in 10 years. The nose is toasty with some oak that isn't totally integrated. Not offensive but just not quite part of the package yet. it kind of reminds me of sanded unfinished pine furniture. Also on the nose: mixed red fruit (red cherry, fresh strawberry, cranberry), spice, wet soil, saline and thyme. The palate reinforces the thought that the oak isn't fully integrated with elevated oak tannin. A touch of red fruited acid and a moderate finish round out the palate on this enjoyable Grand Cru from Jadot. Not rated simply because I'm not sure it's all there yet, but I could see this landing in the low to mid 90's. Still very enjoyable.

Chicago Burgundy Geek Dinner (Boka - Chicago IL): Very Vosne-like and easy to enjoy with plenty of maturing red fruit and savory spice throughout. Very good balance, everything is in harmony right now. Elegantly styled, even if not the most nuanced of Grand Crus.

Loved this wine. Nose was intoxicating. Cherry, herbal, savory elements. Palate was ethereal, great acid and well balanced. Long finish.
