from 375: After a lot of bottle variation with this wine, this was one of the better showings. Aromatic, round, soft tannins, no fear of it fading into a soft mediocrity (unlike the Havens/Hughes Black and Blue of the same vintage seems to be doing) This bottle, 91ish

from 375. I'm not sure what to think of this wine. It has never shown as well as the previous vintage of the Havens Bourriquot, (these were purchased as shiners) This last bottle still had plenty of structure, but may be drying out. The Havens wines generally had a reputation for age-ability 87-88ish

Drinking wonderfully. Medium body, with resolved tannin, moderate fruit and acidity. Dark fruit, dusty Napa earthiness and dried herbs. Medium finish. Served from magnum, it seemed to actually get a bit fleshier with air and never fell apart over a 2 hour drinking window. All all time contender for best qpr. 91-92

from 375....still plenty of structure, it doesnt seem nearly as evolved as the 2006 version of this wine was at this juncture

Some bottles are great, but variation galore. Interesting. Nice.
