Weekly tasting group #177; Riesling from Germany (@ The factory by JdB): Beautiful and elegant bouquet with blossom. candy, minerals and some pleasant petrol. On the palate apricots, tangerine and honey together with pleasant minerals and elegant acidity and sweetness. Beautifully elegant and very easy drinking wine.

A Visit To Jos. Christoffel Jr. In Urzig (Weingut Jos Christoffel Jr): Dried flower scents rise from the glass along with limes and young peaches. Dried hay shows quickly on the palate, followed by lovely oranges, green apple flavors, and engaging light peaches. There’s a great transition from the fruit into some lime like acidity which cleans the palate slowly, allowing you to reflect on the fruit.

Tasting Riesling at Jos. Christoffel Jr. (Ürzig, Germany): The nose is entirely decadent showing rich elderflower scents as well as tempting peaches. Suggestions of minerality add some backbone to the rich nose. Lovely acidity leaps onto the palate right away, but remains polite. Young, crisp peaches work with red apples and some great minerality on the palate. The acidity is soft and refined, but it's just strong enough to keep the experience clean. The flavors become more delicate toward the finish making the lighter acidity a great compliment.
