Recommended by a local wine shop. Medium dark ruby red. Appealing nose giving dark cherry and a very appealing earthiness. More brooding at this point than open. Nice weight in the mouth with a sweet cherry flavor. Well balanced. Compact on the palate -- seems to holding some flavors back at this point. The finish is very smooth and long. I really liked this. I would never have pegged it as California pinot if served blind. An excellent wine for the price (~$15).

One of the last bottles I received from the CS club before I stopped my shipments and I think the first pinot that Bob Klindt produced from his AV property. This is a fair full figured pinot, but not in the sweet spectrum: just broad shouldered and juicy with some impressive weight. On intial opening, a mix of earthy black cherry and chocolate. After an hour of opening up, a little spice/cinnamon on the nose and then a depper plummy feel/core comes forward along with some grip of tannin. The earlier black cherry remains, along with a little reinforcing chocolate. My only bottle so I'll finish tonight and add a final comment later if the wine evolves further.
