Nariz de fruta madura con algo de hidrocarburos. Se nota la vendimia tardia. Acidez presente pero resalta el amargo! Muy bueno. Nota rápida en una catam

Four years ago while drinking this exceptional GV, I wrote that in none of my 300 CT reviews I ever rated a wine that high (94p).
By now, I wrote more than 600 CT reviews and this GV is still/again my highest ranked wine.
Incredible effort by Bründlmayer; very complex GV but this time with somewhat less (exotic) fruity notes and more dominant herbal and peppery notes. Delicious!

I wrote it a year ago and I will repeat it today: There is Grüner Veltliner and there is Grüner Veltliner... This effort is one of those massive powerhouses. The nose provides lychee, apricot, tangerine zest and marigold. The palate adds balance and integration. Despite the wine's power there is a close to refreshing balance to be found. The acidity which lingers behind the massive fruit actually helps this effort pair nicely to somewhat heavier dishes. A lovely wine with many years to go in the cellar!

Not exactly a wine for people who want a quick refreshing sip of white. This is a serious affair, big in all dimensions. The medium yellow colour is tinged with golden reflexes. Nose of pear and acacia with some more exotic fruits like pineapple and lime, even a hint of hazelnut. Full bodied, but well structured, the perfect balance between its creamy texture and the vibrant acidity provides tension. Great fun to drink, albeit its complexity – you just sniff and taste and are overwhelmed over and over again by the multiple aromas. I finished the open bottle the next day, and it was even better then.

(Willi Bründlmayer Grüner Veltliner Ried Lamm) ($78.00) The ’09 is both elegant and swollen with rich interior concentration; you have the suave smile of ’09 fruit with the vast meadows and forests of Lamm, until a whomp of power lands on your back-palate. The external contours of the wine are still vague but the internal flavors are profound. All it needs is time.

Same notes as last year, utterly complex and delicious GV! One bottle left.
