Airy, breezy, light. A nice, cool, refreshing 50-degree breeze. You can see medium body from here, but you cannot touch it. This is a nice, contemplative Pinot, with cherries and other bright red fruit. Very well balanced. Good acidity, bright and nice. Nice.
Pop and pour, this was so lovely right out of the bottle. Lots of orange, cherry, baking spice, very typical for a Rivers Marie. And you know, I'm not sure if it was much better than the Sonoma Coast with a few years on it.
Day 2 - this actually got worse, was alcoholic and slightly woody.
Garnet color with a pink rim Nose - great fruit on the nose with intense cherry and ripe raspberry as well as celery, orange blossom, and cocoa Palate - red raspberry initially with orange blossom and cocoa on the finish Structure - vibrant acidity in this medium-bodied wine and a plush mouthfeel Overall, I really enjoyed the perfectly ripe fruit in this wine as well as the plush mouthfeel. It paired well with our beet salad and goat cheese salad because it had the body and acidity to stand up to the sweetness of the beats as well as the creamy earthiness of the cheese.
