  • Still getting better with every additional year of bottle age. This is a great Riesling. Absolutely wonderful Riesling nose of peaches and white flowers; powerful and expressive on the palate with peach flavors, honeydew melon and sweet tropical fruits, just a bit of Botrytis and some residual sugar (but better integrated as in 2014), very good acidity and mineral core for balance, very long finish. A fragrant wine, full of fruit, ripe but focused and it clearly gains in elegance with age. Should continue to age well. - 91 points

  • A baroque style of Riesling. Wonderful Riesling nose of peaches and white flowers; powerful and expressive on the palate with peach flavors, honeydew melon and sweet tropical fruits, a bit of Botrytis, significant amount of residual sugar, good acidity (but it is not very crisp or refreshing), very long finish. Sexy, lush and sweet, but not the most elegant wine. Was not an ideal partner with white fish. Should continue to age well. - 90 points

(In retropsect, the bottle tasted in 2012 was clearly defective.)

  • Monthly Tasting Group HWS #076; Riesling but NOT from Germany (by AW): Yellow fruits like pineapple in the bouquet. On the palate pineapple, apricots and lime. Some minerals and a firm amount of residual sugar.

  • Will have to review this wine soon as I was really not that impressed by my first bottle of this highly rated Riesling. Fine stone fruit nose but somewhat rustic and oxidative on the palate with some notes of noble (and not so noble) rot and a gentle oak note that tasted of fungus. Good acidity, good fruit and a hint of sweetness, just not very clean and pure. Rather short on the finish. Maybe an off bottle. - 87 points
