Served in blind. Intoxciating nose with red fruit, flowers and perfume. Palate is tart and lean. The nose alone is absolutely stunning, let alone its a Laurent. The 96 Laurent Mazis Chambertin I had recently had a totally different profile. 91-92

M&PD Covid coming-out party of 14 epic bottles of wine. Maybe the other reviewers should have drunk this from a magnum because this wine was delicious. Imo it outclassed a '99 Lignier Clos de la Roche.
To be fair, I love more highly extracted wines which is a signature of Laurent; but this bottle had it all. Eric's notes below cover the highlights - just a perfect balance of savory and sweet, with an anchoring sanguine flavor that made me wish I had a couple more mags of this wine (from earlier reviews, I fear the 750s have aged out).

Auction wine bought knowing risks but curious. Well past prime , cloudy on opening but cleared up , nose ok but apart from the taste of past guts it was a poor risk.

M&PD Tasting: France (Mount Baker, Seattle, WA): From magnum. Sanguine, meaty, dark, brooding and bloody. So pleasurable, sweet core, savory as well, plum pudding.
