tasted blind... for a second I thought it was Chateauneuf, but quickly landed on Amarone, this is stupendous and super classic, lots of dried dark fruit, intense chocolate and spice, warm and rich finish, very long, surprisingly fresh and lifted for such power, simply gorgeous, definitely mature but I can't see it fading any time soon

Extremely bold and complex, with cavernous dark fruits, figs, and a raisiny character. Still, not really my thing--a bit too heavy and weighty, although obviously proper for what it is. Hard for me to rate as I drink Amarone so infrequently.

Drunk with cheeses. Bright ruby fading to edge with some bricking. Wonderful nose of tobacco, sour cherries, port, stewed fruits, plum and cedar. These flavours extended onto the palate. Such impressive complexity! Tannins completely melted away. Beautifully balanced and quite delicate for an Amarone - not overpowering, yet very rich and full. Great depth and length. This is a wonderful wine and should be drunk slowly and savoured. So much going on! The most refined Amarone I have had!
