Community Tasting Notes (9) Avg Score: 90.9 points

  • Strawberry, red cherry and earthy, forest floor notes on the nose. Medium bodied (13.7% ABV) with red cherry upfront and raspberry through the middle. Good tart notes, balanced acidity and fine grained tannins on the backside. Finishes with minerals, forest floor and a lingering red cherry notes that echoes. Mid-body shows a good mix of depth and complexity, but it feels like this wine may have had more concentration previously. Fruit is still showing quite well, with structural elements that are keeping pace. Remains an enjoyable wine and interesting wine, but not quite where I suspect it was a year or two ago. I would drink over the next 18 months or so to be able to enjoy it at this level.

  • No detailed notes. Followed over 3-4 hours. Dark complected Pinot aromas. Tingles the tip of the tongue a bit*. Big and juicy, a little heat afterward. Feels disjointed a bit and never really comes around.

  • The color of pale strawberry jam, slightly hazy. Strawberries, raspberries, and forest floor vie for your attention on the nose. Juicy and rich, the palate is thicker than expected, and almost relieved by the tart acidity. Immediately approachable, but incredibly forward and prodigious wine. I find myself wishing for more acidity or tannin, or something to hold it in check. If you like fruit forward and concentrated Pinot, this may be for you. Indeed, it may be for me on some nights, but tonight it feels kind of like the initially charming guest whose welcome wears thin too quickly.

  • Amazing wine, very well balanced and integrated. Nose shows the lovely Oregon funk. Nice job!

  • Popped and poured at Nostrana for dinner. Fantastic gnocci paired beautifullly. Roast Chicken, Nostrana salad. Nose is complex, redolent of ripe red berries nestled in a forest floor of fresh tilled earth and chanterelles and criminis. A little violet too, some nutmeg, allspice and fresh cola nut. Great balance, the ripeness of that 2009 fruit balanced by the good acid and tannin, acids winning over tannins. Great mid-palate silkiness with grip mirroring the beautiful nose on this lighter colored wine. Finish is bright and smooth and long. Make no mistake, this wine has gravitas. Well-crafted wine.
