Maturing. There's some browning to the rim. Such a transference of flavor relative to the extraction and color. Next to 2012 Calera CC PN, which shows darker and more concentrated, but doesn't quite hold to intensity of flavor. The Crooner carries a riper, sweet fruit finish. Strawberry, rhubarb, cherry. For a second I thought I was at a drive-in movie. For the first time, an experience with Vecino Vineyard that is maturing. Shows a good amount of Burgundian under brush on the nose. More mushroom aromas than I must admit to having ever found in maturing PN. Delicious for it. Jules calls out cranberry fruit.
Well isn't this just magical in a Zalto Burgundy glass. Ripe fruit on the nose, earth touch of spice, palate is soft in the mid but with a very clear acid streak to the back, finishing around its acids. Beautiful stuff.
