  • Pleasantly surprised. Decanted for an hour - just about right. Lighter in color than a typical cab - ruby without a hint of brownness, but I don't see this one holding out for too many more years.

Rich and fruity on the nose. Easy to drink with hints of plum and earth. Not overly oaked - refreshing, particularly since it would've overpowered this one.

Would drink again - not spectacular, but solid.

  • very nice, drinkable now, dark red to black fruit on nose, but not too heavy, new oak, herbal notes, good balance of acidity and tanins, dark fruit stays away from the Zin Shiraz dried stewed fruit intensity

  • Very average. My bottle seemed pale. Maybe it was just the bottle.

  • Tasted after the bottle was open a day, mild blue fruit in the nose, medium bodied.

  • This is a solid 91 point wine. Cork pulled with 2mm lacing on a pressed cork. The stain on the cork was a medium purple. The nose out of the bottle was pure spice and a mixed bag of fruit. Darker, riper fruits hit the nose. Bottle was poured into a decanter and allowed to sit for about 30-40 minutes. The wine by itself when young out of the bottle shows a dark fruit complexity, charcoal, graphite, blackberry, currant. Tobacco finish with some high acidity. The wine was enjoyed with jalapeno and garlic fettuccine with italian sausage mixed with fresh tomato, spinach, mushroom, and spicy marinara. The spice in the food REALLY brought out that spice front, almost a little TOO much. After the wine has been allowed to sit for a few hours, it drinks very different. The wine starts to show its maturity with a rather velvety mouthfeel. Ripe fruits are still on the front, with attenuated spice that is still in the background but not in the forefront. I think that I actually started to get some candied apple on the palate. The wine finished strong. A solid 89 after cork pop, but 3-4 hours later this wine is raring to go. I'm going to look for a case of this, but I worry that it won't have the longevity to last more than 3 years.
