On initial pour, the nose was vibrant and red cherry. The taste was off putting. The wine was disjoint with a lot of tannin- acidity with oaky undertone. Over time, it become better integrated with strong mid palate red fruit, leather and cocoa with heat and tannin on the finish. All in all, a good but not great wine.

Fruit and oak on the nose. On first taste, I get a strong beef jerky flavor. Upon letting it breathe, the fruit comes out (cherries, prunes, raisins) with some chocolate and leather (maybe teriyaki) underneath. Fairly long finish without much acidity. Solid throughout; paired with aged Gouda.

Deeply extracted without being heavy, this blend is kind of a compromise between new world fruitiness and old world structure. Just a touch oaky on the nose. Plenty of ripe, polished, black cherry, black berry and plum fruit. Soft on the palate. Mildly acidic. Very civilized tannins. The alcohol is well integrated. A touch of smoke, lead pencil, and shoe leather on the grapey finish which lasts for minutes.

We had it w/ Morrel Mushroom Raveoli and cheese plate at Sonoma Wine Shop. Was very good and we added some to our next shipment. This bottle was gift from winemaker (sitting next to us). Nice guy, nice wine....

Overall pretty good. Not a big wine but is well balanced with smooth tannins that are well integrated. Nice fla or profile
