  • Spectacular with food. Mesmerizingly smooth.

  • Last bottle from cellar. Love this producer and this vintage is another great example of what they can do. Birthday wine with short rib ravioli and other tasty sides from a decent Italian restaurant. Opened up beautifully after a brief time (10-15min?) in glass. Clear to pale orange meniscus present. Expressive nose. Went well alone and paired even better with food. Secondary and even tertiary notes reveal themselves. Next level stuff. I'd say it is well within it's drinking window. So enjoyable now.

  • Dark berry nose. Dark ruby hue. Cherry, licorice, spice, big bold juice, still young, nicely structured.

  • Ruby red with hints of bricking. Ripe red fruit, tannins medium+ which were dusty, acidity medium+ and finish was medium length. Perfumed nose of rose, black fruits and some hints of tar too. My guess was a 15 year old BdM, probably my best guess all afternoon.

This is a complex and multi-layered Brunello, which is showing so well presently and will likely be at this nice plateau for at least another 5 years. Tannins are stil resolving, and is a superb wine to pair with nice meats such as the Iberico pork slices we were indulging in.

Loved the way this evolved into floral tea note aromatics after 2-3 hours, and dry tea notes on the finish as well. Enjoyed at SKT and Chef LMC's house party on the occassion of Diwali, with the Italian Reds theme. Joined by Friends of Tong Woh, including Cho, Tay, WMK, LMC and Eng too.

Only 1,600 cases produced each year, what a treat to try a second bottle within 2 weeks! Thanks again, Eng for sharing a second bottle of this so soon after the previous one we had at the Timsum lunch.
