  • Enjoying our last bottle while making and eating bouillabaisse. Still drinking fine, but given its age I would suggest drinking up soon.

  • Exactly as I wrote in a tasting note for this wine five years ago:
"...this wine fails to impress me when young but when once I tasted it at 5 years of age it was excellent.
Crisp and slightly unripe when young, it now is perfumed, plush and oily textured: a beautiful ripe and opulent Condrieu.

  • A bigger, richer wine than I was expecting, at least in the mouth with an earthy white style. Medium- intensity on nose with fleshy fruit (peaches, apricots), and river stones. Mouthfilling and creamy on the palate but stones on palate didn't quite integrate with fruit and fullness.

  • Bright gold in colour with a medium to medium+ intense nose.

Positives: Silky and smooth, this Condrieu features classic notes of apricot, honeysuckle, kiwi, baby arugula, lime, crushed stone and wakame on the finish. Full body with medium acidity and a long length.

    Negatives: None

Interesting Note: Condrieu, a small appellation in Northern Rhône, was the drink of blue bloods centuries ago.

Drink now or over the next 2 years, on its own or with Christmas turkey.

  • Lemon-gold with a perfumed nose full of roses, freezia, kum quat and orange zest. Buttery and opulent on palate exhibiting great ripeness and good balance despite soft acidity present. Full of orange and apricot marmelade that lead to a persistent finish. Drinking perfectly now with no point of ageing.
