  Colour was brownish-red, looked too mature for an 06'. Nose confirmed, incredibly jammy and palate quite acidic and drying. Tossed down the sink unfortunately after 2 hrs of decanting, gotta love auction buys... Hoping bottle variation but I suspect poor cellaring as the cork looked fine.

  Gorgeous nose of roses, cherries, a hint of earth. Pretty and engaging without being excessively perfumed. Palate very pleasant with good red fruit, weight and med finish, but lacking in energy. Good with dinner (Mattina in SF) but a little softer and less dynamic than I would expect.

  Some violets and florality on the nose. Dark cool fruit on p. Rich and moreish on the p. Good balance and nice length. Perhaps missing a bit of the energy I was expecting. Really likeable and enjoyable.

  Lovely as always. Don’t let anybody hear you say it’s a bit ‘modern’. In a good way. Loads of classic barolo hallmarks but with a bit of racy sexiness to it too. Best after a few hours in a decanter. Slightly above cellar temp from a big zalto . As an experiment I left half a bottle in a decanter for 10 hours - still beautiful and holding together just fine but has mellowed out a touch.
