Perfect cork. Soft, tender, no damage. A lot of sediment from storage. Pre-serving taste after opening, had noticeable fruit, slight alcohol. First one oz pour had sediment in filter. Will let sit for an hour, and taste again. Initial thoughts, glad to open. Prefer the 7-10 year old Cabs. 15 yr max on a hearty well kept vintage w/proven history. Unknown why this bottle was saved, prob just missed it. Vintage smoothed out, bouquet softened. Still gentle fruit forward flavor, still slight alcohol presence. This bottle has aged well.

Raisin and toffee at first, smoothening out to be very balanced. Tannins and spice came forward with a slight vegetal note at the back end. Finish is long and pleasant. Paired well with chocolate. Have another bottle I am going to hold onto for a little longer.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity. Overall, this wine was absolutely wonderful. Smooth and light over the lips, light and savory in the mouth, clean, smooth on the back end down the throat. Just an easily enjoyable Clone. Served with 3 lightly smoked Trip Tip roasts to a group of 6 Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. The second bottle was for comparison: a 2012 Phelps Cabernet Savignon.

could tell it was going to be delightful, californina bordeaux style, but was bitter out of the bottle. Needed about an hour, full flavors were evident, second day had all the power of the first and a tad mellow. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like forest floor, mushroom and lead pencil. It tastes like lychee and dust. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

Great everyday wine. We always have a case handy for those nights you want a nice red to go with something mundane.
