I’ve had this wine several times over the past decade and I really enjoy it. The Mailbox Vineyard is a high quality wine at a reasonable price point, and it ages really well. I would have rated this 94 points a few years ago, but dropping to a 91 now as the fruit is starting to fade out while the tannins are still firm. Drink NOW!

Still chugging along at 15! Although it seems to have lost a very small amount of fruit. Still lovely BIG wine from high elevation vines. Blue and black fruit, baking spice, menthol towards the end. A wonderful companion at this stage, but I'd drink up now, or very soon.

What a great bottle of wine! Still very much alive and structured with beautiful ripe blue and black fruit, tobacco, hints of espresso and eucalyptus. Very fine integrated tannins left a silky mouthfeel as well. As it opened, the coffee note burned off and I got more pronounced blueberry liqueur and tobacco notes. Reminded me of their Cabernet. Definitely a cab drinker’s merlot, as are most Spring Mountain merlots. Wouldn’t be surprised to see this hang on for another 5 to 10 years. Enjoy!

2hr decant needed. Dark fruit flavors, black licorice. Silky smooth. Delicious.

Nicely aged. Full, round fruit but smooth.
