Still in fine form and drinking very nicely. Bright ruby color. Cool crushed fruit nose with precise eucalyptus, baking cocoa, trace of tar. Taste is bright and never flabby, yet polished and lush on finish. Like a great mixed berry pie. Finish still has some grip, but not overly so. Very fine wine. Drinking window extended to 2022.

The '08 has been sitting in my cellar since 2011, and I've been looking forward to tasting one with some age on it. My first Home Ranch was in tasted in 2009 with the '06 vintage. It was the wine that turned me on to Sojourn. I enjoy the pinot noirs with age, so why not the cab. At p'n p, this tasted what a 8 year old California Cab should taste like. Very smooth. Elegant. Rich and full bodied. Drank with friends. I certainly got my moneysworth on this $39 bottle. I wish I had more.

Popped and poured with pot roast, then drank over the next 4 hours. This had a lot of vanilla and oak on it...a bit slutty even for me. Dark blackberry fruit. As time went on, the vanilla and oak wore off, and it seemed to show a lot of acidity from the fruit, although missing some of that juiciness of the fruit. Not mind blowing, but it's enjoyable.

Loads of sweet cherry up-front. Turned to blueberry. More mineral and earth towards the end.
