  • I picked the wine up from a clearance bin for cheap. Decanted for 1.5 hours after trying a little taste. Softened tannins. Essences include plum, muted vanilla, and tar. I expected it to be on the downward slope but it was going down quite nicely. A steal at $18 CDN!

  • A contreversial wine at this blind tasting. TCA was evident to me and a couple of others. There was still a nice bit of fruit in the palate and a nice finish but it was still flawed by the TCA.

  • Decanted 1/2 hour, consumed over 2 hours. Red cherry, plum, and mocha notes show up on the expressive nose. The palate is similar, with lively acids, but I found the oaky tannins to be aggressively mouthcoating and the coffee/mocha notes dominant on the mid-palate, not letting as much of the fruit through as I'd like.

This could have been lovely if it had been more judiciously oaked (for my preferences, of course). For those who like a good whack of oak, though, this has at least a couple years of life left to it.

  • Beautiful sangiovese fruit plums and sweet vanilla. The palate has acidity and length with a nice finish. 33%cab/33%merlot/33%sangiovese. This is my last bottle and the best yet.
