Brown colour, bricking. Nose strongly reminiscent of a mature bordeaux. Blackcurrant chewits and burnt charcoal, green pepper. Fruit seems dead and finish is a bit bitter and short. Seems a lot older than it is.

My favourite vintage of this Rioja. Tasted 3 bottles between 2007-2009. Wish I had more, but the wine could be past its peak by now.

Solid Rioja, heavy on the vanilla but good if you like the style

A good Rioja with only a subtle taste of vanilla, which is how I like it. Well-rounded body, easy on the tannins.

Deep ruby-garnet color. Full berry fruit - a bit tart at first but became rounder after an hour. Nice balance. Dry finish. Agree - good dinner wine.
