Drank really well! Surprisingly (to me) it needed some air. After a bit of time it really opened up and was a relatively rich pinot, though there's a bit of a bite in it as well.

Very fine after nine years in bottle. Color shows just a tinge of age, but overall a lovely clear red. Obvious legs... I think there was a lot of very ripe, juicy fruit that went into making this. Brambly thickets of berry dominate on the nose, and the palate confirms this, along with a lot of complexity with notes of leather, cinnamon, vanilla emerging, and still a nice, crisp acidity. I think the alcohol is a bit on the high side, but it doesn't diminish my enjoyment of this wine. Finish goes and goes. Enjoying tonight with roasted chicken, beans and tortillas, and beets and potatoes. My "cellaring" conditions, such as they are, are decidedly not optimal, so this seems like one that can last a good 15 to 20 years when stored under ideal conditions. Superb now, though.

Great bottle. Medium bodied. A little Burgundian with hints of grass
