  Definitely a food wine and likely past peak. Opened tight and never fully opened up, with almost pithy tart cherry notes. A little rough on its own but it worked very well with pasta and a red sauce with shrimp.

  Nice dark red color. Expression on the nose is subtle with more earth tones. Tartaric acid on the mid palate contributes to the finish. Dark fruit, casis and black licorice. Firm tannins. I would decant this bottle to let it open up and serve it with some good cheese to settle the tannins.

  Very fruity with darker, deeper fruits than the negroamaro tasted before it; also some vanilla/talcum powder aromas. Licorice and medicinal cherry too. On the palate, tart acidity; decent, with some sweet fruit here. Fine for what it is.
