  • Double decanted and tasted blind. The wine was in great shape tasting younger than it was. Good fruit and structure with smooth edges. Going strong.

  • In a good place. I would say it peaked about 3 hours after opening. Initially it was very California in style. It did mellow a bit with time. I would say it’s time to drink and at it’s peak. There were classic cab notes with red berries and cherry on the nose. The palate is red meat and cherries. The finish is medium.

  • Deep ruby colour. Showing surprising few signs of age.

Medium plus intensity on the nose with earth, mushroom, dried fruit, raspberry, cranberry, blackberry, graphite, mint and crushed rocks.

Medium plus intensity on the palate. High acidity, high mostly resolved tannins, full body, medium alcohol, long finish.

Enjoyable mature Cabernet Sauvignon with great intensity, complexity and length (although it couldn't match the finish of the 2012).

  • The line up, 2016 world's end crossfire georges 3, 2013 david Arthur 1147, 2009 sbragia rancho del oso, 2017 hewitt Rutherford, 2017 Joseph Phelps, 2017 judge palmer Beckstoffer to kalon, 2007 mayacamas mt veeder
Everything at least 1 hour decant in a decanter. Raspberries, bright red fruits and Jalapeno,, on the nose. Best nose of the group IMO. Smooth totally integrated tannins, great acidity, cherry, leather, red fruits, great mouthfeel and long finish. Everyone's # 1 or #2. My # 1 but it was really close with the world's end. The 3 2017's really needed either a much longer decant or several more years in the cellar.
Fabulous cab night with friends! Wish I had a few more bottles of this, it is really hitting it stride!
