When I opened the bottle, the cork crumbled and I assumed the wine would be relegated to pasta sauce. I was wrong. It was surprisingly good. Perfect tannins, fruit and ruby red color. This was a commemorative bottle from the San Diego Padres 1996 NL West Championship. In a year without baseball, it was a pleasant surprise!

Found this forgotten gem in the cellar today. Decanted for 3 hours before tasting. Integrated tannins, plum, red fruit and Smoke. Delish!
