Deep ruby color. Wonderful nose with raspberry, sweet tobacco, and strawberry starburst. Medium-plus body, medium-plus tannins, medium-to-medium-plus acid. Gorgeous fruit on the palate with sweet cherries that become darker (plums, blackberries) with time in the class. Picking up some coffee mid-palate along with some cherry cola. Wonderful, though pricy.

Dense, blackish-red, burly wine. Maturing flavors, but still very structured with some astringence to the tannin. Dark fruit, roasted bell pepper, really a mouthful. Needs another 5-10 years to resolve the tannin. Or perhaps some well-marbled animal fat. Interesting that other notes here describe the wine as fully resolved - wish that had been the case here.

Stunning. Tannins just silky smooth now alongside beautiful purity of fruit - classic blackberry and plum, dark fruits, some spice. In a great spot right now.

Served with a smoked brisket and alongside a 2003 Monte Bello; the nose here is classic; definitely get some oak notes of vanilla, menthol, mocha, underlying is rich cassis, earthy notes, violet, and a bit of cigar wrapper; the palate here is plush and rich, but still has lovely balance, very good depth, and a lasting finish. This is drinking quite well right now, but has plenty of life and development ahead. A classic Diamond Creek

(Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill) Very dark ruby color; appealing, ripe black currant, cassis, loam nose that changes to milk chocolate after 2 hours; rich, very appealing, blackberry, black currant, black fruit, violets, mineral, chocolate palate; long finish

Tuesday Night Blind Tasting $70+ (Roswell, GA): Opaque core with garnet rim; oak, cassis, bitter chocolate, earth, chocolate covered cherry; fleshy but structured, Bordeaux varietal, fresh, still quite youthful, licorice, Italian-esque in a way; makes sense.
