Alcohol comes out swinging, so give this some time. Red cherry with brown spices, faint licorice root. Lots of oak and prominent tannins. Finish was short, a bit hot and long on tannic grip. 50/5/10/8/7/8

Hot, earthy, smoky. Paired with pasta, which helped, but a hot, earthy, smoky wine is not my preference. Addtion: after two additional days in the fridge, the second half of the bottle was pretty nice. I had decanted for at least an hour on day1, but the wine mellowed out with a couple of extra days. Raised pts from 86 to 87.
