  Now some 10 years from vintage date it's time to look over what has happened to this wine. Still some wonderful aromas to lure you into the glass: plum, vanilla, white pepper, and black cherry - it still smelled young and vibrant, I had to look at the label to make sure I grabbed the older vintage. The palate was big and spicy, with echos of plum from the nose adding blackberry and vanilla with a spicy-oak finish ... Rich but very well-balanced, so spicy yet very tasty

  Great depth of flavour, is what I remember most, and a price that seemed too good for words. Needless to say I enjoyed this wine a few times between now and then, but here we are 8 years from vintage and time to try it again. This is everything I want Zin to be: aromas are an intoxicating blend of plum, black cherry, cherry cola, Christmas spice, and cocoa; palate had a spiced plum, black pepper, vanilla, mocha-raspberry quality and a spicy finish with just the right balancing acidity ... Made for a perfect pairing with the BBQ ribs, and the 14.9% alcohol was barely a factor.

  I had been saving this bottle to get a little age on it. Still spicy and jammy (in a restrained sense). Unfortunately I think this wine has peaked, or is in a dumb phase right now. Aromatics weren't as good as the last bottle and the fruit has faded a bit. Still enjoyable.

  Pedroncelli 2007 Bushnell Vineyard Zinfandel was a perfect pairing for the sweet meat of pulled pork with nicely spiced plums, hints of soft leather, dark cherries, cassis and just a touch of earthiness to ground it (ha ha).

  dark berry, chocolate, cinnamon and spices on the nose. Very dark berry with spicy aftertaste on the palate. Excellent with food and good sipping once it breathes for an hour.
