  Nose of black cherry, chocolate, vanilla, candied violets, and Kirsch. Complex flavors featuring ripe red berries and baking spices. The medium-bodied palate is really out of balance, however, with tart cranberry acidity; firm, dusty tannins; and a significant alcoholic sting all competing with each other. Definitely wouldn't have been better to open this earlier, but I'm not sure more time would have done any good. A decent wine, but not worth the tariff.

  Biodynamic. Only 330 cases made. Bright ruby red color. Beautiful strawberry rhubarb filled fruity nose. Medium-full bodied with ripe strawberries, raspberries, and a soft earthiness. Soft tannins. Very approachable. Medium-long finish. Beautiful balance. A superb Zin!

  Trip to Napa Valley; 1/30/2011-1/31/2011 (Napa, CA): Maybe I missed something here, because this was one of the worst wines of the trip, and at $85, a complete rip-off. Perhaps a bad bottle? Beautiful ruby-red color, like a really dark rose. Was getting absolutely nothing from the nose. Bright red strawberries on the attack, decent acidity, finished quite hot. Very disappointing.
