This is at peak to my taste; maybe a touch past. Some bruised apple, lots of chalk and minerals. Long-ish on the palate. It's not an objectively great Champagne, but I very much enjoy it at this moment.

This showed well but maybe a hair below expectations given the vintage and wine. At first it came across as a little long in the tooth, but that went away after a few hours.
Excellent texture but a little shy on the nose and tired on the palate.

Tasted blind. Chalky, Chardonnay flavors. Quite opulent with notes of yellow plums.slight bitterness in the finish. Good now but will continue to age gracefully.

(A. Margaine "Spécial Club") ($80.00) There’s a very stony new parcel in the Champs d’Enfer which is in the blend, and he did 22% in 6th-use barrique. Disgorged 1/11, a splendid ripe Chardonnay aroma, recalls the ’92 or ’98; real winter-picked Jade Oolong sweetness; the body is a little jabbing post-disgorgement but the material is vinous and concentrated, and the inner length is striking. Buy it and wait, and you’ll have a gauzy yet powerful confiture of pear and lemon balm.

tasted blind. Tight and structured. Very dry, unyielding, and with a bitter finish. Difficult to enjoy now but may improve with more age.
