My first bottle of Au Bon Climat pinot. I enjoyed it as a savoury, leaner pinot that really kept my interest through the bottle. Cherry, strawberries & good acidity on the palate. Would be a perfect food wine with duck or other game.
Dark brick red, nice nose of ripe cherry, strawberry, leather, some hay and faint oak. Light-medium body, palate offers more sweet, red cherry and strawberry with a tiny bit of spice. Might be a bit too fruit forward for my liking if not for a good kick of acidity on the mid-palate, and decent length finish. Pretty good value.
rust colored around the edges, medium bodied. earthy, with spice on the tongue and concentrated flavors of summer fruit. For me, this is what you want in a house pinot noir and an excellent value at around $20
Had another bottle a month later and was again impressed. Head and shoulder better than other large production wines at similar price point.
