Nose was hard to pin down - it reminded me a bit of a very dark, aromatic pipe tobacco I tried once. This was a slow opener - bracingly acidic after 30 min decant. After 2 hours, it undergoes an amazing transformation. Still a bit acidic, maybe needs a few more years to soften, but still fairly balanced with good structure. Plums, blackberry and black cherry and half the spice rack - snappy pepperiness with earthy and aromatic spices. Dusty tannins and wonderful, long peppery and aromatic finish.
