Wines from the west side of Paso have developed a style over the last few years that is big, bold and, i think, beautiful. Saxum, Linne Calodo, Booker, and this wine, Torrin have all stylistically paved the way for this region with much of the fruit coming from the James Berry Vineyard. Lovely ripe fruit with a backbone that is sophisticated and complex. The wine was better on day 2 suggesting a long life ahead. This style will certainly not please everyone but if you like shiraz from the barossa, red from the south of France or Spain you will be enamored.
Brillant wine! Wonderful drinking window. Dark fruits that play the best damn hide and seek and here I am with each sip. Well integrated on all sides (front, middle, and finish). I don't believe that holding will significantly improve this juice. An on the map bottle for Torrin!
Great nose, no heat and slight fruitiness. On the palate, smooth, big fruit that is balanced nicely. I really like the mourvedre up front, but I don't get the long finish that others describe. Nice, nice wine. Having said that, I'd enjoy it again but not necessarily outstanding.
