  • Brown tinged red. Dried cherries, red raspberries, pepper and some autumnal notes of leaves and hay. Good presence on the palate with pleasant tannins and brisk acidity. The red fruit is a bit musky and there are some notes of pepper and licorice. There are also some rich plummy notes that bring to mind Nuit St George. That having been said, the wine does not give me an overall French impression nor would I place this wine from Santa Rita. I think I would have picked it as a Sonoma pinot blind. Not a profound or particularly memorable but it is a nice wine that has some real interest.
