Pure, clean dark fruit, with some forest floor flavors, but then the finish is short and clenched and tannic. The front end is half of a really good wine.

A little musty on the nose, dark fruit, good intensity, but tight and cut short by bitter tannic finish. Balance better on day two, but not an impressive showing.

Better showing this time. Very ripe fruit with coffee and chocolate notes at the end.

continues to be a young big wine, all about gevrey power. Handles the vintage heat well.

NYE Eastman. Quite tannic and not giving much. Certainly not an overripe 2003.Drinkable with beef tenderloin but I hope for better texture and palate.
