  • My last review said "drink now to 2013". Call that one wrong! Precise, well balanced, elegant, definite flavors that wrapped deliciously around the oysters, yellowtail sashimi and brie we scored from a friend's boat (not the brie).

  • Nose is a little like overipe apples in an orchard on a hot day. Slightly musty and earthy. Tight bubbles. Zesty on palate but with little distinction beyond the lemon lime. Not very complex. Sweet to the point of cloying. Maybe just a bad bottle or maybe past its prime.

  • Definitely better than previous bottle or maybe just my mood has improved. Still has the toasty overtones but the zest is a little buried. Good bubbles and very cleansing but somewhat unremarkable for these guys. Worked fine with some cheese but got lost with anything bolder. Maybe just a blah vintage it has been somewhat uneven from bottle to bottle. I still have a few bottle left so we will see. I will bring in some outside help to make sure it is not me.

  • Had this this morning (happy new year to us). Seemed quite dry at first as one would expect from the name but I grew to really appreciate the minerality and almost a hint of brininess? It reminded me a little of Ocean Cuvee only rounder due to PN. I think it is drinking just fine now.

  • This is not cellaring well. Toasty nose with a mineral overtone. The yeastiness that was a joy before is more oppressive than the in-laws at the holidays. Slight lemon zest at start gets buried rapidly under the assault of the dry yeast beasties. But otherwise thin and lacking complexity. I will never get this off of my tongue. Maybe just a slightly off bottle or this vintage is not the one I loved previously. If only there were an app to tell me that. Oh wait...
