Excellent aged pinot. I must comment on the drinking windows that are listed here on Cellertracker. Most of them are downright wrong. This wines window was expired in 2011, yet it was absolutely delicious last night! Great cherry/berry aromas, racy acidity, smokiness, and great with food. Is it at its peak, yes it is. But it is 2016, not 2011. CA pinots generally are best from 7-15 years old, and Williams Selyem wines age magnificently.

Light crimson in color. 14.4% ABV. Soaring nose of red fruits, cloves, anise and wet forest floor. Medium body with just enough acidity. Light and lithe on the palate. Almost Burgundian. Flavors of cherry cola, black cherries, mushrooms and baking spices. Clearly ready to drink if not a little past it's prime.
