Color - dark ruby with a hint of brown, not bright, showing some age, some light rim variation. Nose - dark fruit, spice, leather, earthly, crushed leaves, a bit muted. Mouth - nice fruit, low mineral, fairly smooth but does have a little bit of tannic grip, nice finish. Decanted for under an hour. Good nose, not very strong, kinda have to work at it to get the notes. Wine is smooth and pleasant to drink, I like a Rhone with a little age.
I've now changed my opinion of this wine. It has become my everyday drinking wine. It's smooth, balanced, nice mix of red fruits with terroir, drinks just as good on day 2 and goes well with a mix of food. Great QPR.
