Probably waited too long to enjoy this Pinot because the structure had diminished somewhat. However, still had enough body and positive mouth feel to enjoy with French inspired salmon dish.

Color is faded red turning brickish. Aromas of Raspberry jam, strawberry, road dust and graphite. Medium body. Medium-plus finish. Palate of red fruit - cherry. The finish is a little hot - 13.9 alc. is apparent. Tannins are present, but very mild. Structure still holding, but this is certainly a "drink now" wine.

This wine is a little puzzling to me. It has some components of a great wine but for some reason falls short. It's like a basketball player who has the shot, ball handling, passion and IQ for the game but is only 5' 2". The fruit is there, there is some nice acidity, it's all there but just didn't completely deliver for me.

A pale, translucent ruby wine with a nose of strawberry and forest floor. Juicy in the mouth with tastes of strawberry and ripe cherries. The finish has decent length. Very pleasant to drink and well structured.

The Failla Sonoma Coast Pinot is a pale, translucent garnet color, with a complex nose forest floor, a deep evergreen note, hints of rhubarb, and some florals. In the mouth, the wine is silky, smooth, and did I say silky yet? Really nice glycerols for that appealing mouth feel. Tastes of ripe black cherry, some strawberry, and a nice tea mid-palate. The finish lingers nicely with more black cherry and some strawberry. Nicely layered as it develops in the glass.
