  A massive, towering effort that is largely shut down. Well integrated oak, impressive concentration, and classic, powerful nebbiolo from a terrific producer. Let rest another 5-10 years

  Open on the nose: balsamic notes, cherries, leather, rose petals, tar, spices. Elegant and subtle, still quite firm tannins on the palate. Well integrated acidity. Very long and lingering but quite grippy still. 93-95

  Two hour double decant. Reticent nose. Lovely full palate with dark fruit and a bit of leather. Clean finish. Enjoyable now, I wonder whether it will pick up complexity with further age and improve. Probably.

  Hardly any discolouration. On the nose lots of depth, layered, notes of cherries, undergrowth, tar, spices, hints of leather, tobacco. On the palate lots of well integrated acidity, still quite firm and structured, good fruit. Grippy and persistent finish. Drink or keep. 93-95

  Very dark ruby purple with just a hint of age creeping in. Elusive nose - pine needles and hint of tar. On the palate this is deep, rich and round, glossy even. Sandpaper tannins but despite the fruit concentration, the finish is very dry. Ever so slightly austere - this is old fashioned conviction winemaking. Masculine and brawny and absolutely no compromises. For traditionalists
