  • Odd. Nothing like as good as the previous bottle. Just rather characterless. Not decanted - maybe that was the problem. Perfectly pleasant but the last one a year ago seemed to be at the beginning of its life and this one the reverse.

  • I'm giving this a very high score because, although a simple country wine in theory, this is so well made, and so delicious right now. I bought this in the Gers in maybe 2009. This is the first of 6 - wish I had bought more. Big full fruity nose and good legs. Just a hint of a colour change at the rim. Smells almost like Cabernet S. I guess it is the Carignan that is giving it all that character. For the money, this is one of the most enjoyable wines that I have opened recently.
Clear clean garnet colour. Quite a bit of sediment.
Full of fruit, pleasant soft tannins and a lovely refreshing acidity just in the background. Delicious - maybe another year or so to be at the peak but very enjoyable now.
    BRAVO!

  • This is one of our favorite mid-week standby bottles @ $12. Seen at other LWS for as much as $20.
