  This reminded me of the '01 Marina Cvetic, the last montepulciano I can remember with an alluring, feminine sexy profile. It isn't as good, but it's better than my memory of the '04 Cvetic. It doesn't have that funky "I haven't shaved my armpits, what are you going to do about it" attitude of some montepulciano, and I note that with a tinge of regret. But if you're willing to allow a little domesticity into the equation, then I suspect you'll enjoy this. It's got some class, baby.
  
  Nose a melange of dark red fruits, pencil shavings, a little balsam, black pepper and minerals. Really takes off in the mouth, where it struts the warm red fruits and an attractive, sinuous texture. Balanced finish with surprisingly supple tannins. Only detraction is a slight hollowing near the finish. Whether that's part of a growth spurt or an ungenerous streak, I'm not sure.
